The Volunteer Services Manager is to coordinate all individual volunteer activities to ensure maximum support of services provided at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD). The coordinator also serves as a liaison to volunteer agencies and other groups within the community, developing and maintaining open channels of communication. The Volunteer Services Manager is knowledgeable of the mission, goals, and objectives of RMHD.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Individual Volunteers

o Recruits and orients all volunteers on an on-going basis.

o Trains new volunteers, in collaboration with the Guest Services Staff.

o Schedules all weekly volunteers, ensuring appropriate volunteer coverage to meet the needs of RMHD.

o Maintains the volunteer calendar in Outlook.

o Manages the usage of Volunteer Hub for all volunteer activity.

o Works effectively with the Junior League of Dallas Project Chair, promotes a positive relationship with the Junior League, and monitors placement per contract.

o Prepares Junior League Community Project application.

o Develops and updates volunteer job descriptions.

o Maintains accurate volunteer records and roster.

o Maintains volunteer workspace and volunteer sign-in area to ensure a pleasant work environment.

o Offers continued educational training for volunteers twice annually.

o Conducts annual volunteer satisfaction survey.

o Identifies volunteer needs, monitors volunteers, and encourages support of volunteers placed.

o Works cooperatively with the staff to identify group volunteer activities.

o Handles oversight and management of the Teen Team, Teen Team Leadership, and Teen Team events and activities.

o Organizes volunteer recognition and appreciation gifts or events.

o Prepares a monthly volunteer update to ensure that volunteers remain informed of policies, procedures, and activities at RMHD.

o Communicates with volunteers to ensure they understand and are comfortable with all RMHD policies and procedures and are aware of any special circumstances.

o Works with Chief Operating Officer and the Community and Family Activities Manager to prepare volunteer budget.

o Works with Volunteer Board Development Committee to schedule Board volunteer opportunities and Board-sponsored functions for Guest Families.

o Assists with the processing of in-kind donations.

o Performs all other duties as assigned.

· Community Relations:

o Represents RMHD at community volunteer fairs.

o Promotes community awareness of the mission and objectives of RMHD.

o Supports RMHD by attending fundraising, promotional, and other special events.

· Development:

o Recruits volunteers for special events as requested.

o Recruits and manages volunteers for Trains at NorthPark.

· Family Relations:

o Demonstrates an environment of warmth, compassion, and support to ensure a nurturing atmosphere at all times.

o Communicates and promotes all activities to the families.

· Other duties as directed by supervisor, administrator in-charge, or CEO.
