Ronald McDonald House Dallas provides a safe, supportive, and caring home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving medical treatment away from home. We provide lodging, meals, family activities, and support services at no cost to families. Our House serves three meals every day, 365 days a year, through staff, volunteers, and community meal groups.

The Chef leads all aspects of the food service program, including kitchen operations, staff supervision, volunteer engagement, menu development, food safety, purchasing, inventory, and budgeting while creating an exceptional experience for guest families.

Chef
The Chef leads all aspects of the food service program, including kitchen operations, staff supervision, volunteer engagement, menu development, food safety, purchasing, inventory, and budgeting while creating an exceptional experience for guest families.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead all daily commercial kitchen operations.
- Develop nutritious, cost-effective menus.
- Supervise Sous Chef, Food Service Coordinators, and Kitchen Volunteers.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, vendors, and budgets.
- Coordinate volunteer meal groups and community partners.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and oversee preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the family experience.
- Monitor program quality and implement continuous improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Culinary degree, certificate or formal training preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience leading Kitchen staff.
- Experience managing a commercial, institutional, healthcare, hospitality, or nonprofit kitchen.
- Current Texas Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP principles, and health department regulations.
- Experience with menu planning, food purchasing, inventory management, and budget oversight.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn kitchen inventory and scheduling software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
